Fr. Vincent Flusche (Pastor)

Father Vince Flusche
was born August 14, 1956 and ordained to the priesthood on June 16, 1990.
His parents, Vincent & Mary Ann Ashour Flusche, both deceased, had 7
children and Father Vince is second to the youngest. He served as the
Associate County Agent in Garland County before he entered the seminary.
He enjoys reading, watching T.V., playing cards & dominoes and ballroom
dancing. Fr. Vince has a B.S. Degree in Agriculture; M.S. in Horticulture,
Masters of Divinity Degree from St. Meinrad Seminary and a B.A. Degree in
Spanish with the highest honors from Arkansas Tech University in
Russellville.. Fr. Vince served as Associate Pastor at Blessed Sacrament
Church in Jonesboro; Pastor at Sacred Heart of Mary, Barling; Pastor at
St. Edward's in Little Rock and Pastor at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin
Mary, Atkins; St. Augustine, Dardanelle & St. Andrew's, Danville before
coming to St. Edward's Church, Texarkana in July 2006. Back

Sister Miriam Therese Miller,

Sister Miriam is a Sister of Charity of the Incarnate
Word, Houston, Texas and a native of Gadsden, Alabama. She made her
final vows in 1966. In 1963, she received an undergraduate degree in
English from Sacred Heart Dominican College, Houston and an undergraduate
degree in Business Administration from McNeese State University, Lake
Charles, LA. In 1988, she received a Masters Degree in Theology from
Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley, CA. Before being missioned to
Kenya, East Africa in 1992, she served in hospitals owned and operated by
her congregations in Louisiana, Arkansas, and California. Sister
Miriam received training in Spiritual Direction at St. Bueno's Jesuit
Spirituality Centre in North Wales before returning to the U.S.A. in
December, 2000. She began her ministry at St. Edward's in

Deacon Joe L. Bruick

Deacon Bruick was born and grew up in Conway, AR. He
graduated from St. Joseph High School in Conway. He and his wife
Barbara moved to Texarkana in 1961 and became members of St. Edward
Parish at that time. He has three children and
five grandchildren. Deacon Bruick entered diaconate studies and
formation in 1990 and was ordained April 24, 1993 for the Diocese of
Little Rock. As deacon, his ministries include: R.C.I.A. -
Pre-Cana and Marriage preparation; officiating Baptisms and weddings;
assisting and preaching at Sunday Mass, funerals, and other liturgical
celebrations; and ministering to prisons, hospitals, and

Deacon David Fowler

Deacon David J. Fowler was born in Texarkana and has spent
most of his life here. David graduated from Arkansas High in 1970,
and in 1975 entered the U.S. Air Force. In 1976 he married the
former Betty J. Lewis, of
Texarkana, and they have two children, Scott and Krista, and 3
grandchildren, Claire, Garrett and Blake. Deacon David graduated from Texas
A& M University in 1988, with a business degree. He recently
retired from the Texarkana Water Utilities and is currently a chaplain
at Christus St. Michael's Hospital. Deacon David has been a member of St. Edward’s Church
since 1971, and was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate on December 14,

Susan Harder Mervish
(Director of Religious Education)

A native Arkansan and cradle Catholic, Susan has served as
Director of Religious Education since November, 1997. Susan works
closely with the pastor and parish catechetical leaders to provide
religious education and formation opportunities for children and
adults. Back

Geri Hebert
(Housekeeper)
| Geri has worked at St. Edward's Church
cleaning all the buildings since 1989. She was born and raised in
Orange, TX and moved to Texarkana in 1975. She is the mother of five
grown children (three boys and two girls). Geri is a member of
the 3rd Order Carmelite.

Tom Maloney (Janitor) |
|
Tom Maloney has worked part time since May 2004. He helps with
the heavy janitorial work around the church. Tom is a member of
the Choir for Opportunities, Inc. and is an artist.

Teri Wilson (Director of Outreach Services)
|
|
Teri Wilson has been Director of Outreach Services since May of 2006.
She has worked in service oriented positions for over 25 years,
including working with mentally and developmentally disabled
individuals and in the field of substance abuse intervention and
recovery. Ms. Wilson is responsible for all aspects of Outreach
Services including crisis intervention through financial assistance
and daily food distribution to the homeless and poorBack

| Brandon Glover (Outreach Assistant) |
|
Brandon is a graduate of Texas High School and the assistant to the
Director of Outreach Services. Brandon is responsible for all the
"heavy" work around the Outreach including unloading trucks, assisting
the volunteers, assisting clients and various other duties as assigned.
He has resided in the Texarkana and Ashdown area all his life along
with his parents and grandparents.Back
