I was born and raised in Little Rock, AR as the sixth
of seven children born to Frederick Joseph and Anna Evelyn (Irby) Worm. I
have 5 sisters and 1 brother, most of whom live in the greater Little Rock
area. My father passed away on January 1, 1988 and my mother is presently
86 years old and living in an assisted living facility in LR. I grew up
in Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish and attended school there through 8th
grade. I attended Catholic High School for Boys in LR, graduating in
1979. I went to college at St. Joseph Seminary-College in St. Benedict,
Louisiana, graduating in 1983 with a degree in Philosophy. After a
pastoral year spent at St. Mary’s Parish in NLR I then went to St. Meinrad
School of Theology in St. Meinrad, Indiana. I graduated in 1988 with an
M.Div. in Theology. In my 22 years of priesthood I’ve served throughout
the state: Hot Springs, Fort Smith, West Memphis, North Little Rock,
Fayetteville, Jonesboro, Walnut Ridge, Weiner, Marked Tree, Batesville,
Newport, and presently here in Texarkana. I am constantly mystified that
God has called me to be a priest of the New Testament in Christ Jesus and
strive to serve Him in all humility.

Father Salvador Vega-Alvarenga (Associate Pastor)

| Father Salvador was born in El Salvador -
birthday: August 28th. He was ordained to the priesthood on
March 17,2001. He is the 4th of 11 children of Ignacio Vega and
Carmen Alvarenga. Was Associate Pastor at San Juan Bautista
Parish, Nahuizalco, El Salvador, 2001; then at San Jose Parish,
Metalio, El Salvador from 2002-2008; and at St. Vincent DePaul,
Rogers, Ar. 2008-2010. He is a member of the Sonsonate
Diocese, El Salvador. Father enjoys, exercising, playing soccer,
basketball, walking climbing and reading. Back to top of page. |

Deacon Joe L. Bruick

Deacon Bruick was born and grew up in Conway, AR. He
graduated from St. Joseph High School in Conway. He and his wife
Barbara moved to Texarkana in 1961 and became members of St. Edward
Parish at that time. He has three children and
five grandchildren. Deacon Bruick entered diaconate studies and
formation in 1990 and was ordained April 24, 1993 for the Diocese of
Little Rock. As deacon, his ministries include: R.C.I.A. -
Pre-Cana and Marriage preparation; officiating Baptisms and weddings;
assisting and preaching at Sunday Mass, funerals, and other liturgical
celebrations; and ministering to prisons, hospitals, and

Deacon David Fowler

Deacon David J. Fowler was born in Texarkana and has spent
most of his life here. David graduated from Arkansas High in 1970,
and in 1975 entered the U.S. Air Force. In 1976 he married the
former Betty J. Lewis, of
Texarkana, and they have two children, Scott and Krista, and 3
grandchildren, Claire, Garrett and Blake. Deacon David graduated from Texas
A& M University in 1988, with a business degree. He recently
retired from the Texarkana Water Utilities and is currently a chaplain
at Christus St. Michael's Hospital. Deacon David has been a member of St. Edward’s Church
since 1971, and was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate on December 14,

Geri Hebert
(Housekeeper)
|
Geri has worked at St. Edward's Church
since 1989. She was born and raised in
Orange, TX and moved to Texarkana in 1975. She is the mother of five
grown children (three boys and two girls). Geri is a member of
the 3rd Order Carmelite.

Tom Maloney (Janitor)
Tom Maloney has worked part time since May 2004. He helps with
the heavy janitorial work around the church. Tom is a member of
the Choir for Opportunities, Inc. and is an artist.

Teri Wilson (Director of Outreach Services)
|
|
Teri Wilson has been Director of Outreach Services since May of 2006.
She has worked in service oriented positions for over 25 years,
including working with mentally and developmentally disabled
individuals and in the field of substance abuse intervention and
recovery. Ms. Wilson is responsible for all aspects of Outreach
Services including crisis intervention through financial assistance
and daily food distribution to the homeless and poorBack

| Brandon Glover (Outreach Assistant)
 |
|
Brandon is a graduate of Texas High School and the assistant to the
Director of Outreach Services. Brandon is responsible for all the
"heavy" work around the Outreach including unloading trucks, assisting
the volunteers, assisting clients and various other duties as assigned.
He has resided in the Texarkana and Ashdown area all his life along
with his parents and grandparents.Back
