Our Church & Beliefs

St. Edward's Catholic Church is a Roman Catholic parish in Texarkana, Arkansas.  Part of the Diocese of Little Rock, we strive to live out the Gospel and be formed into a Christ-centered community. Following the teachings of Jesus as handed down by the apostles, and in union with other Catholic Churches, our primary mission is to live out the Great Commission given by Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20:

"Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.  And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."

In the spirit of this mission, and to meet the spiritual needs of area Catholics, Masses are held daily in Englishweekly in Spanish, and bi-monthly in Vietnamese. In addition, St. Edward's is responsible for two mission churches: Sacred Heart in Foreman, Arkansas, and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Ashdown, Arkansas. Our parish is also a leader in the diocese when it comes to ongoing spiritual formation, offering religious education opportunities in English and Spanish to both youth and adults.

As an expression of love to the marginalized, St. Edward's operates an Outreach Center that tries to meet the current needs of those less fortunate than ourselves.  Daily lunches are given out Monday through Friday.  The Outreach Center helps with financial assistance when funds are available.
