Parish Groups

Most of the groups active within our parish are listed below. If you have any questions regarding any of these groups, or wish to join any of them, please contact the church office at 870-772-1115.

Knights of Columbus
Our Knights of Columbus, Council No. 2650, is an organization of Catholic men promoting community activities within the parish. The knights meet on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00 pm in the parish hall. Our 4th degree knights (Bishop Graves Assembly 28), who provide an honor guard for major liturgical celebrations, meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

Lay Carmelites

The Lay Carmelite Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Third Order of Carmel) is an association mainly of lay persons. Its members, though not in religious life, commit themselves to follow Jesus Christ according to the charism of the Carmelite Order under the authority of the Prior General of the Carmelite Order. Members are brothers and sisters of the Carmelite Order and share in their mission and call to holiness.


Parish Life Committee

This committee consists of volunteers who, as distinct teams, help set up before and clean up after major events around our parish. Each team usually assists at two or three events per year.


Bereavement Committee

This committee consists of volunteers who, as distinct teams, provide food after funerals for those who have lost their loved ones.


Rosary Makers

Members of this group meet regularly to make rosaries that are given out for free in our parish. On occasion, this group also sends out rosaries for mission projects, conferences, or other events.


Men's Prayer Group

This men's group deepens their Catholic faith by reading and discussing the Sunday readings together. They meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of every month at 5:45 PM in the school.


Fuerza Transformadora

This group, conducted in Spanish, is for those who have struggled with addiction throughout their life or whose loved ones have suffered from addiction. This group is meant to be a place for support and growth in Christ, and meets every Friday after the 7:00 pm daily Mass in the youth room.


Asamblea

The Asamblea is a group, conducted in Spanish, centered on charismatic prayer, formation, and prayer intercession. They meet every Friday after the 7:00 pm daily Mass in the parish hall.


Sunday Adult Formation Groups

These groups meet during English-speaking youth PRE (i.e., from 9:15 - 10:45 am every Sunday from September through May) in the school:

  1. Breaking Open the Word (studies Sunday readings)
  2. Wise Elders (for older adults, uses programs to study the Catholic faith)
  3. Coffee and Catechesis (for younger and middle-aged adults, uses programs to study the Catholic faith)
